A little bit about me...

My family life…

A proud resident of Vaughan for over 35 years, where I call home. I am the pillar of my family, raising two children, who are my world. My children were raised in public education since Junior Kindergarten. This was my choice to have them in a diverse environment to embrace, learn, respect and appreciate other cultures. My investment to my children was to give them the best possible education they could receive. They are the reason why I remained actively involved in public education for 16 years as a parent and Trustee.

Giving back and paying it forward, defines the individual who I am today. If you have ever been through a drive through and received a coffee or meal and was told by the employee, “to pay it forward”, well, that was my act of kindness in making your day.

Sunday’s are family days, where we spend quality time together. You will read more in my “Fun Facts”.

Why I am a Trustee today...

I am a trustee today as a result of the time I invested in volunteering. Over the years of my involvement in public education, I supported my school communities in various roles from spearheading many activities through 13 years on parent council, to spending 2 years on YRDSB Parent and Family Community Engagement Advisory Committee. I was also hands on in the classroom supporting children in literacy.

For the love of the game of soccer, I took the plunge and obtained my coaching and referee license for youth soccer. A player myself, I passed on my skills and knowledge, teaching players the fundamental skills of soccer, developing agility, planning strategic playing, giving leadership opportunity and most importantly understanding the laws of the game, respect the game, respect the referee and respect the player.

Career life…

I am a professional in Project Management, managing high profile projects ranging from millions to billions of dollars. My financial background has allowed me to explore different career paths, utilizing my skills to develop business models and processes that support a successful project. I am a lifelong learner and through professional development, I have continuously enhanced my skills and knowledge in our global world.

Finally, fun facts…

I am a sports fanatic! Football Sundays encompasses quality family time, watching the Dallas Cowboys and the New England Patriots, and cooking a 5 course meal. The Maple Leafs are my favorite, we are definitely close to a Stanley Cup. I truly enjoy watching our OHL talent, this is the best hockey to watch. Then we have soccer, I played ten years from youth to teenager, and I also played recreational as an adult.

Additionally, I have a passion for the arts. I love listening to all genres of music and appreciate the movement of dance. In my spare time, my creative side comes out along with my sketching book. I do enjoy cooking and creating many dishes from, American, Asian, Greek, Middle Eastern, West Indies, Polish and Italian influences, I might add all from scratch. Recently, I’ve taken an interest in photography, treasuring life moments.
